silliest punk band in the land
My first honest-to-goodness band was Milk, the grouping of me and my two (at that time) best friends: Dayve M. and Alicia B. Smack dab in the middle of junior high, we decided to form a completely weird punk band, and so (our own personal) history was made. Geneva, Illinois, the mid-90s, I can picture it now and it's making my palms sweat....
We released two albums - "Two Percent" in '95 and "Non-Alcoholic White Liquid" in '96, before going our separate ways as high school progressed. The first was a loose collection of basement jams, strange covers, and a few actual songs, but it only exists on tape. The second was our real effort at producing something that could rightfully be called an album. Recorded over the summer and using an old casette 4-track, I'm still impressed by the lo-fi garage punk we managed to churn out (given our ages at the time, and the fact that our songs were usually about complete nonsense). If you're curious, you can listen to all of the songs here:
- "The Lengthy Guy"
- "Jimmy's Voyage Away From Home"
- "45 Dumb Blonde Clowns"
- "Moo"
- "I Wanna Be Italian"
- "Udders"
- "The Song That Doesn't End" (the first real song I sang lead on)
- Hidden Track
