Sharing A Bed

Two people, if they felt very close,
could sleep in this bed.
Side by side, trying to dream
without accidentally touching the other.
Rigid, like stones slabs,
wondering at their companion's thoughts.
So conscious of a foreign warm body,
they'd roll right over the edge in polite consideration.
